I LIGHT MY LITTLE CANDLE

I light my little candle and sing a little song
The melody starts dancing in the glowing light as it gently moves along

Vivid memories of more than half a century ago
erupting from the heart a painful emotional flow

Do you remember or did you forget
how to the gas chambers little ones were led

Hatred’s rage
writing the world’s darkest page

Do you recall
The days before morality’s fall

Voices of gloom
arranging innocent people’s doom

The world in complacency ignoring the suffering
little ones in camps of evil abused in anguish dying

Salty tears streaming from my little saddened eyes
Still I light my little candle and sing a little song

Knowing that even when history repeats itself
and multitudes keep doing what is wrong

Victory and redemption is not given to them who by evil are guided
Salvation comes through  faith and love that unfailingly keeps shining
even in the darkest of night

When we like little children light our little candle
knowing God stands with those who do what is right
unwaveringly shining forth His ever flowing glowing loving light

Blessings and love in Christ,
Monique
