Chapter 1 Special abilities
It's snowing, and it doesn't seem like stopping. It's beautiful!
Some of my flowers however thought that spring was arriving and they started to blossom, but this must be a cold shock for them.
The poor little things, they'll just have to wait a little while longer.
Nobody's able to go anywhere today, the snow makes it impossible to drive, it's very dangerous. People are not able to control nature.
God however can and He gave the ability also to His children.
When He was in the boat with His disciples He calmed the wind and the sea.
He told us that we would do even greater things than He has done.
He also walked on water and through faith Peter also walked on water.
Joshua spoke to the sun and history misses one day.
Elijah said that there would be neither dew nor rain for a few years, until he would say so again. And so it was, just as he said.
The Spirit would make him appear and disappear transporting him to another place miles away.
“But now you tell me to go to my master and say, 'Elijah is here.'
I don't know where the Spirit of the LORD may carry you when I leave you.
If I go and tell Ahab and he doesn't find you, he will kill me.”
1 Kings 18:11-12
The Holy Spirit did the same to Phillip;
“When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away , and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.
Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea .” Acts 8:39-40
Still I don't see anything like this happening in our world today.
Christians aren't doing greater things today than Jesus has done.
Just a few of us perform miracles through Gods Spirit.
But I believe that Jesus said that all believers would receive gifts;
“And these signs will accompany those who believe : In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Mark 16:17-18
I know however that Gods Spirit grants everyone special abilities to edify the body of Christ and to save the lost.
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
Although each of us receives a different ability, God will multiply it when we diligently practice it.
Wondrous things did happen in the days of the first church. I believe we are part of the last church on earth.

Chapter 2 Truth brought to life again [back to top]
Much knowledge about the gifts of the Holy Spirit got lost through the dark ages between then and now.
The devil tried to destroy the truth of Gods Word first by killing Gods children and later by compromising the Word.
The Emperor of the Roman Empire, Constantine, saw that it was useless to kill the believers and the devil decided to mix their pagan beliefs with the truth of God.
The root of the pagan faith can be traced to Nimrod and his mother,Semimaris.
Nimrod was a son of Cush the son of Noach.
“Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on the earth.
He was a mighty hunter before the LORD ; that is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD .
The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon , Erech, Akkad and Calneh, in Shinar From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh , Rehoboth Ir, Calah and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah ; that is the great city. Genesis 10:8-12
I read an article on Nimrod:
“Nimrod was the one who started to build the tower of Babel , he wasn't such a great hunter for the Lord after all. He and his mother taught the people to worship them.
After he died his mother promoted the belief that he was god and that she was the mother of god. Everyone was speaking one language.
A few years later, Semiramis bore a son, Horus or Gilgamesh.
She declared that she had been visited by the spirit of Nimrod, who left her pregnant with the boy.
Horus, she maintained, was Nimrod reincarnated.
With a father, mother, and son deified, a deceptive, perverted trinity was formed.
Semiramis and Horus were worshipped as "Madonna and child."
But then God confused the language they were all speaking and they weren't able to understand each other anymore.
God scattered them over the face of the whole world.
Each group of people took with them the pagan belief of Nimrod and his mother and changed it into their own thing.
For the Indians it became Krishna and so on.
Fortuna and Jupiter in Rome ; Aphrodite and Adonis in Greece ; and Ashtoreth/Astarte and Molech/Baal in Canaan .
So the Romans changed their mother -son idolatry into Mary and baby Jesus.
All the planets became Peter, Paul and so on and they made statues to worship them until this day.” (End of the article on Nimrod)
You can clearly see that the Christians fell into their trap and slowly the truth of the gospel was darkened.
It was only when Maarten Luther got a revelation from God that men are saved by grace and not by deeds ( buying your way out of heaven), that this wonderful truth was reestablished into the hearts of men.
And when the protestant movement came to life, much blood was shed for this revelation, for the Catholic Church persecuted them.
Later the truth about baptism came alive again, and people didn't believe in baby baptism anymore.
Then the truth about the gifts of the Holy Spirit were revealed again and mighty miracles took place. The Pentecostal movement started and is still working, Praise the Lord.
We are the church who live in the last days, does God still have something to reveal to us that is still not understood? I believe so.
We still have to get a revelation of the mighty power of Gods Word that abides in us. We just do not seem to understand fully what His Word is capable of doing through us.
That's why nobody through His Spirit, has ever done anything greater than He has done.
I know the greatest thing is when a soul is won for the Lord, but we could win much more souls if great miracles would accompany the Word we speak.
Because people can actually see the manifestation of God.
God uses us already to reach people with His word, but let us strife to be filled with more and more of His Spirit, He will grant us more and more gifts if we are faithful in using the ones we already have.
I believe the last revelation to be made before Jesus returns will be the manifestation of His glorious power in a way that has never been seen before, so many can be saved. And the world will have no excuse when they stand before God's throne waiting to be judged.
The Word is God; if the Word is in you than God is in you.
When you speak the Word, you speak life, God's life to things, situations, to people.
We create by speaking just as Christ has done.
Believe with your heart and do not rely on your senses.
Often we start to doubt the Word because we start using our senses.
The heart of men is their spirit, we need to believe with our spirit, no matter what our body tells us. If God tells you that you are healed than you are, no matter how you feel at that moment.
The same is true for every other promise.
I am longing to be filled even more and used by God and I can feel His Spirit urging me to do so.
Still there is much for me to learn about His wonderful personality and I am devouring His Word everyday.
What comes in the heart will come out of the mouth.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.
Faith is in a way the Word of God, so if you walk by faith, you walk by the Word of God.
There are so many people sick, broken hearted and in need of God's healing power.
The man that was possessed by a legion of demons cried out day and night, but nobody could help him.
Then Jesus crossed the sea just to get to him and he delivered him from satan.
Are we ready to cross the sea of disbelieve and enter the great unknown where Gods power is a reality? I'm ready, please come with me!
