WAITING ON GOD

Nobody likes to wait. We all like fast results.
Many advertisements lure people into buying their products by telling them that they'll have instant results; “Be slim in two days” “Remove wrinkles in just 5 minutes”.

Learning to wait or having patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
We cannot do it on our own, we definitely need help.
The key to this all is surrendering yourself in obedience to the Holy Spirit of God.

There are no instant fruits. It takes time, the seed is sown and water and sunlight have to be available daily for a number of days. The growing process is initiated and when it is completed it brings forth the precious fruit.

Christians need the Word of God, it is the seed of life.
The Holy Spirit is the water that nourishes the seed.
He sheds light on the Word so we are able to understand it and grow.

This process can only take place when we bow down before God and sit in His presence. His Spirit is able to speak to us when we take the time to pray and listen and worship Him.

Maybe God has revealed something to you or maybe you've been asking for something and you are discouraged because it takes so long for it to happen.
The devil is telling you that it's no use to sit in God's presence because He's not hearing you. The devil is a liar and he doesn't want you to bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

God gave us several scriptures to encourage us to pray even when things seem to be going the opposite way of what He promised you.
The parable of the persistent widow is a good example of such persistent waiting.

This widow came time after time to ask the judge to grant her justice, but the judge wouldn't help her. But finally he could take it no more and decided that he should reward her request. God reminds us that He's so much more righteous and loving than this judge who didn't care about people or God.

We need to have faith in God and wait. Luke 18:1-8

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up .” Luke 18:1

“And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says.
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth ?"

The flower of patience that blossoms spreads the scent of faith.
Faith is pleasing to God it proofs that we trust Him.
He wants faith to mature in our hearts so we will be ready for even greater tasks that He prepared for us to do.

You see God never intended for you to stay at the same level year after year.
No we are being transformed into the image of Christ day by day, from glory to glory until we reach the fullness of God within us.

“He must become greater; I must become less.”John 3:30

But often we like to take matters in our own hands to speed up things only to find that we miserably fail. Yet God is right there to pick us up and bring us to the starting point again; sitting at His feet and waiting, trusting and believing, honoring Him with worship!

God had promised Abraham and Sarah a child while it was naturally impossible for this to be accomplished. They were old and Sarah was barren.
Sarah tried to take matters into her own hands because she couldn't wait for God to deliver the impossible.
She gave Hagar her slave to Abraham in order to build a family through her.

God was displeased with the matter and strife was the fruit of her actions even today her impatience has reaped results of war and anger between the descendants of Ishmael the son of the slave and Isaac her own son.

She finally came to her senses after seeing the result of her own actions and trusted God to do the impossible. God finally granted her what He had promised, but only after she started believing and trusting Him.

Praying and worshipping God supplies oil for our lamps.
It's fuel to keep on walking the narrow road until God grants you the impossible.

The Holy Spirit guides us when we allow Him to fill our hearts.
If you neglect this you will be burned out very soon and it will become dark around you. You won't know which way to go. You won't be able to endure the waiting and you'll miss out on the promises God gave to you.

The wise virgins had enough oil for their lamps to carry them all the way.
The foolish ones neglected their lamps and forgot to take extra oil.
They fell asleep because of the waiting.
Suddenly the moment was there, the bridegroom came.

Only the wise were able to walk the road and meet their beloved.
The foolish ones were left in the dark of anxiety and despair.(Matthew 25:3-5)

Don't let this happen to you!!

Get busy!! Pray, sit at the feet of Christ and worship Him, for He is so wonderfully in love with you. Don't seek Him only for what he can do for you; He needs your true love!

King David used to sing and worship God in the fields where no one could see or hear him. He loved God!!

God loved him so much and called him a man after his own heart.
That's just incredible. The heart of God is so wonderfully filled with love.
To be someone after God's heart is to be filled with amazing love.

King David waited in God's presence for the task God was preparing for Him.
It wasn't just any job; he was going to reign over all Israel as a king.

God has made us Kings and priests over His eternal Kingdom.
But just like King David we need to serve God, love Him in the stillness of the green pastures, sitting at His feet.

Then when we are mature enough to handle what God has prepared for us, we will receive the promises made to us. Healing, deliverance, all your needs will be met and God will work through you to display His might and power to the whole universe.

Isn't that worth the waiting?

He will never leave you, He's always with you and waits quietly for the precious fruit of faith to blossom in you. He longs for the beauty within us. He's so in love with us, He gave His life for us, enduring the pain and the suffering out of love for us. No, this wonderful person will never leave us, you can be sure of that.

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32

Let's lie down in green pastures together, seeking the heart of God in love and worship.

Love as always,
