I am late with this weekly devotional, but I liked the other one so much I held on to it a little longer.
The other one started Thursday because I had just started my website about that time.
Often in life we like to hold on to what felt good in the past.
In many relationships the best feelings are left in the past.
Remember the first time he said: “I love you”. Butterflies in the stomach, your heart pounding like crazy.
And the first time she held your hand. Your heart melted and you became light on your feet, dizzy in the head. You remember!
But what about that feeling now. We take many of our relationships for granted.
Friendships are neglected, marriages fall apart.
We can't build a relationship on feelings in the past.
Feelings should be expressed daily, in order for the relationship to blossom and stay alive.
If you want a solid marriage or friendship that will last forever, you will have to start sharing your love today. Today will determine the future of tomorrow.
It's the same with our relationship with Christ. He gave His life for us, suffered extremely in order to save us.
But often we forget to take the time to shower Him with our love and attention.
We know how to ask Him for help in times of trouble, but what about expressing our love and gratitude. Don't hurt Him! He suffered enough.
Work on your relationships today and there will be a tomorrow for them.
Love, Monique
