Sweet as Honey

 “Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.”Proverbs 16:13

 I like to mix some honey in a cup of hot water and drink it. It's sweet and soothing to my throat. Singing puts a lot of strain on your vocal chords sometimes. But I just can't stop doing it; it's just part of me.

We all like sweets and tasty food. For some food has become a god and they serve him well. As a result of this they get overweight and unhealthy.
Food was meant to supply our body with all it needs to grow healthy.
We work for it, because we need it.
However, Jesus quoted the scripture of Deuteronomy;
“Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

“He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD . Deuteronomy 8:3

 The Israelites were hungry and thirsty in the desert. Why didn't God let them take another easy road to the promised land?
He wanted to teach them to always trust Him, to let go of trusting their selves.
That's why they endured trials and temptations under the scorching desert son.
In a way they were purified.

In the same way we endure trials and temptations, longing for whatever we need and want. And we become weak and miserable because we forget to trust God and rely on our own strength.

The apostle Paul tells us to trust God;
“We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers.”
2 Corinthians 1:8b-11a

“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13

The words of God are like honey, sweet and healthy.
“How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103

“Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. ”Proverbs 24:24

 We should trust His words, they are life to us! Speak out loud His promises made to you!
He has healed you at the cross and has forgiven you, He will provide in all your needs!! But most of all tell Him that you love Him, He longs for your love. We are His spiritual bride.

Our love is like honey to Him!
“Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue. The fragrance of your garments is like that of Lebanon .”
Song of Solomon 4:11

 Let us overwhelm Him with the sweetness of our love and soar together to the highest heights and the deepest depths of that wondrous thing called love!

Love always, Monique
