I always thought that the space suits of the astronauts looked rather uncomfortable. The astronauts can hardly move smoothly and they just float around in the air like a balloon. The movements are limited. We were definitely not made to live outside the earth.
All kinds of adjustments have to be made in order to sleep, eat etc while wearing the suit.

Being a Christian sometimes feels like being an astronaut in a space suit.
When a person accepts Christ as his savior he is born again and his spirit has come to life.
Because of sin, that separates us from God, our spirits are dead until we turn to Jesus and repent.

Our born again spirit comes alive in a body that is used to sin, and our evil desires have to be eliminated one by one by the Holy Spirit.
It feels just like living in an earth suit.
Your spirit wants to be holy and loving, but the earth suit wants to indulge itself in sin and does not want to love anybody else but himself. It has no conscious and is very egoistic. It just wants to float around in sin.

Thank God the Holy Spirit gives us the strength to overcome. He renews our mind by the Word He gave us, the bible, and He makes us ready for the transition into a body that fits our newly born spirit.

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy.”(1Peter 1:13-15)

Sometimes we make up very ingenious excuses to justify the desires of our earth suit.
Let us stop fooling ourselves, we gain nothing from it.
It's a tough struggle but Christ has already taken all our weaknesses and all our sorrows upon Himself at Calvary .
He saves our tears in a bottle and rescues us.

“Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” (Psalm 56:8)

Come and pour out your heart before God, your tears aren't wasted when you cry in His presence. He saves them, they are precious to Him, because He loves you and feels your pain.
He was tempted in the same way we are.
He will help you overcome a heartache about a love that was not meant to be, drug addiction, sexual abuse, everything!

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Let Him kiss away your tears!

Let me hold you ‘till the night is over, ‘till we rise above the stars into Gods glorious presence and we will be as one,

Monique
