“Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth, for your love is more delightful than wine.”
(Song of Solomon 1:2)

"How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice! (Song of Solomon 4:10)

Love is a mystery it just happens, suddenly you're in love and the feeling is overwhelming. It takes control of your whole being and all you want is to be with the person you love, nothing else matters.

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.” (Ephesians 22:31-33)

When a man and a woman fall in love their hearts become as one, they share the same feeling that binds their hearts together.
And they just want to be together forever, so most of them get married. If you are a Christian you do it in obedience to Gods word.
Marriage shows their unity to the world. Then they are allowed to physically share their love by having sexual intercourse and symbolically becoming one in the flesh.

Marriage is used in the bible as an example to explain to us the relationship between Christ and His bride, the church. This relationship is covered with a veil of mystery.

But through our brother Paul the revelation of this mystery has been given to us; “The mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets.
This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel , members together of one body and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.”
(Ephesians 3: 4b-6)

At the last supper Jesus told His disciples: "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God." Lucas 22: 15-16
Why was it so desirable to Him to have that last supper with them?

He had come down from heaven to accomplish the mysterious plan God had for all people; saving them from sin and death and making them His bride.
God loved us from the very beginning and wanted us to love Him too.
The first commandment is to love Him. But when you fall in love with Jesus it's not a command anymore, you just desire to be with Him always.
So your heart also becomes one with Gods heart just as it is between a man and a woman, however it's a spiritual kind of love.

The next step is to become one body with Christ. Now we do understand that this heavenly oneness is not like the earthly one where we have sexual intercourse. But we become one in The Spirit since He is the spiritual man who came from heaven. He does however have a body but it's a celestial one.

So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being" ; the last Adam, a lifegiving spirit.” (Corinthians 15:45)

The Lord Jesus who is the heavenly Bridegroom loves His bride and wants her to be with Him forever. So at the last supper He was eager to let them know that they soon would be as one. He gave his bride bread that symbolized His body and wine that symbolized His life and the new covenant or marriage.

He was in a way proposing to her, asking her to become one body with Him in marriage. He is still proposing to all who hear His voice calling out to them in love.
He did not however give her a diamond ring but he gave her something exceedingly more beautiful than anything else you've ever known; His own Spirit to be with her forever.

“Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:13-14)

He placed His seal of love on us, so everyone would know that we are His bride, who is waiting to be clothed with a celestial body in order to be His lawfully wedded wife and to show to the universe their unity in Body and Spirit. She will sit beside Him on the throne and they will rule together in love.

“Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death.”
( Song of Solomon 8:6)

If you are married your body belongs to your partner and his/her body belongs to you, since you have become one body.
When you give it to someone else you break the unity, and you become one with the other person.
This is not permitted since God only allows death to make an end to the unity of your bodies; you have become an adulterer. Your partner however, is now free to marry someone else, since it was you who broke the unity. But still In the midst of desperation God can restore your marraige if you repent and cry out to Him.

Many people consider sexual intercourse as a way of having a good time. They do not know the true meaning of this wonderful, holy, constitution given by God.
Even so when we place someone or something else between our heavenly Bridegroom and ourselves we break our unity and become spiritual adulterers.
He warns us that we cannot serve two Lords.

Be true to your earthly love in body, mind and soul.
Be true to your heavenly love in the same way!

Soon His heavenly arms will be around you, and you will feel the warmth of His breath caressing your heart forever!!

“ Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.” (Song of Solomon 8:7)
