1 Kings Chapter 5 speaks of the alliance formed between King Solomon and King Hiram of Tyre. King Hiram had been a good friend of King David and continued his friendship with David's son, Solomon.
He agreed to provide the wood for the temple and King Solomon provided food for Hiram's household.
The cedar and pine logs were floated in rafts by the sea to the place Solomon pointed out.
Also the workmen had to cut precious stones that were going to be used for the foundation of the Temple.Solomon made all kinds of arrangements to get the job done. He had much wisdom of God.
We are also temple builders, but the temples we are supposed to build are not made of stone and wood. Our bodies are supposed to be temples of the living God.
The Spirit of God wants to live in our body just like He dwelled in Solomon's temple.
His Spirit comes into our lives when we accept His saving grace.
We become alive in Him born of His Spirit.
But it doesn't stop there; “And they lived happily ever after.”
No, we are saved and have a mission to complete; building God's temple in others by telling them about His saving grace. God's Spirit speaks through us and touches their hearts.
When they open up their hearts to him, He enters in and they become a living temple.
Solomon needed wood, stone and water to carry the wood to the temple.
Our wood is the cross where Christ provided our salvation.
Our foundation is the rock of ages Christ and all is accomplished through the Living Water that symbolizes the Holy Spirit.
God's Spirit gives us the wisdom of Christ and just like king Solomon we are sons and daughters of the Eternal King. His Spirit wants to use you and me to build His temple in the lost and lonely.
Use the talents He gave you and start building. Your reward will be eternal.
Save those who are in need of salvation from evil.
May God lead you and me to do so!!
Love, Monique
