"Veni vedi vici", "To be or not to be", all kinds of statements have been made in different kind of situations. Some serious some entertaining, like "What's up doc", "Beam me up Scotty”, or the more seductive "Going my way"?
Some statements or ideologies have been made into 'religions' people often follow.
Sometimes we may wonder how it could be that people followed the statements and ideologies of Hitler.
The herd of sheep that I saw recently could illustrate this in a simple way.
The herd of sheep had to cross the ice to get to a place and they were all unwilling to cross the dangerous ice. But as soon as one crossed it the others followed.
It greatly resembles the way people tend to blindly follow others.
Hitler had an evil ideology but because some scholars and well known people followed him, others switched off their conscious and joined with evil.
Still there were some brave people who tried to stop them, but failed. Then God stepped in and the evil reign was brought to an end.
Then those who seemed mighty in evil suddenly were reduced to plain abusers. Just like when Sadam was reduced from being a ruler to being a plain abuser.
God is always in control and has a set time for everything. If He promised something, then it's on the way, maybe delayed but not denied.
Evil may rule for awhile but not always.
The most wonderful statement of all
Christ made the most wonderful statement of all and of all times:
"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6 )
There is a way to live in harmony with God and people it's through Christ. No one else will bring a new world order where peace reigns, only Christ.
It starts right here and now, in our hearts, where God's kingdom can arise when we follow the Great Shepherd of the sheep, Christ our Savior from sin.
He crossed the sea of evil and made a way for us to overcome it also through His blood.
His reign is everlasting and eternal. He is alive and can be living in our hearts when we live according to His statements.
Even after many wrong turns we can still follow His way.
I am following the Great Shepherd, going my way?
Blessings and love in Christ on this wonderful morning,
Monique
