HISTORY'S SHAME

It was in the new millennium that we sat down to hear
about governments from the West who once shamefully spread betrayal and tears

Come the West did say
we will work with you who seek peace at your request to bring the world a brighter day

Destroy your weapons be one with us
We guarantee the deal please in us do trust

Go West this is the best of ways
We will merge your country with ours without delay

In hopeful expectation the peace seekers of the other continent dined
as agreements were contently signed

All other continents looked on with interest
It was an important test to see if unity would last

But in the year of 2011
betrayal came raining down to their surprise
Decisions were made that were shockingly far from wise

The government with whom the West had made a peaceful deal
was bombed away replaced by rebels who bore the devil's seal


The atrocity of betrayal was hushed away
with arguments that could not stand the light of day

Meanwhile in another place on Earth voices rose in agony
West come save us help us please
By the thousands we are daily killed by our brutal Syrian regime

No the West did cruelly say
We are too busy robbing those we betrayed in every way

Do not trust us fend for yourselves and try to understand
today we may want this tomorrow we might change our selfish demand

This is the 2011 lecture we give the rest of the world
We promise you peace that will last for a decade


yet our renewed policy is to administer betrayal
that causes every solemn promise to easily in darkness fade
