LORD IS IT I

When I look into the eyes of a hungry child slowly starving to death
in a world filled with skyscrapers and wireless internet
Lord is it I

When I see some abandoned
yet still fighting for a world of justice and sweet harmony
viewing them from afar in comfort and tranquility
Dear Lord is it I

Lord is it I who betrays
Am I the one who abandons
Surely sincerely most definitely not I

Looking into the silence of Your silent Eyes
I feel the hurt sensing the desperation of their sorrowful cries

Realizing the incomprehensible answer to my unquestionable question
I bow my head in sadness and cry

Lord let it be me for eternity undoubtedly be I
Daily reflecting Thy Love-soaked compassionately painted Heart
Starting afresh starting anew in Your brand new shining start

Stepping Your steps on earth's soiling soil and ever shifting sand
It will be me yes it must be I stretching forth in graceful fervent fervor
Thy blood stained merciful saving nail scarred Hand

Restoring lives in the meekness in the resurrection of Your resurrecting Light
Lord that I forever and always may be
Ceaselessly without ceasing seeing I in You and You in me

Blessings and love in Christ,
Monique
