Chapter 1 Tears for a Reason
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes.” Revelation 21:4
“Put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”
Psalm 56:8:b
God will kiss away all of our tears.
It's always touching to see how a mother or a father comforts her/his child when he/she is crying. They hold their child tightly in their arms and kiss the tears away; assuring the precious child that everything is going to be just fine.
The little child feels comforted again and the pain subsides while he/she falls asleep in the tender arms of the one who loves him/her.
The voice of the mother or father is soothing to the wounds.
Who can ease your pain better than your loved one.
A woman and a man who love each other find comfort in each others arms.
The warmth of their love dries up every tear.
God made tears for a reason.
Biologically speaking, they are necessary to protect and clean our eyes.
But we are also spirit and when our spirit is sad we get emotional and tears flow from our eyes. In a way they are cleansing our spirit from the hurt we feel, because it releases the hurt and lets it flow out of us through the tears.
It does not change the problem you have, but it empties the ‘bottle' that stores up the hurt inside of us. There's only so much that our bottle can contain.
On the other side of heaven God catches every tear that we cry in His bottle.
He carefully analyses them and sometimes His tears accidentally drop into the bottle also because it hurts Him to see us in pain.
When Mary cried because her brother Lazarus had died, Jesus wept also.
I wish I could have been there to wipe away His tears.
What does God do with this bottle of tears? Does He keep it as a museum piece to look at now and then while we waste away?
Absolutely not, although sometimes it seems like we're all alone in pain.
But we are never alone; He's forever near to us.
Sometimes we get so discouraged and we wonder why we have to go through pain and sufferings while He is always by our side. Why doesn't He do something?
God never sleeps nor slumbers, He's always watching over you, caring for you.
But each of us has a road to walk upon that is set before us by the Holy Spirit.
He is our guide.
We have come from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We are washed in the blood of the Lamb so we are cleansed from darkness, but our mind still needs to be renewed.
It is renewed from day to day as we study the scriptures under the guidance of God's Spirit.
Most people think that renewal only means to learn to do good things instead of what we we're used to do. But the renewing of the mind also means to think like Christ.
There are a lot of people who have good deeds, but they do not follow Christ.
So having the mind of Christ through the renewing of your thoughts does not mean doing good deeds only.
“The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:14-16
Chapter 2 Understanding the language of Love [back to top]
Our minds are being prepared to hear and understand the voice and the words of God's Spirit. We learn to understand His language!
There are so many languages in the world.
Some find French a romantic language or some just dream away to the sound of a passionate Spanish love song.
I personally prefer to hear an English version of the love song because “I love you” sounds so perfect and powerful. It flows right through you and touches your heart.
But it's just a matter of opinion. So if you want to say “Je t'aime”, it's alright with me.
It's wonderful when two hearts speak the same language of love.
They become as one.
If you would say “I love you” in the Russian language to me, I would probably think you needed a glass of water or something to eat, because I don't speak or understand it. Imagine how offended you would feel if I gave you a glass of water after you have declared your love to me and I would just say nothing back in return.
We have always spoken the language of the world.
Our mind is limited to what we have learned, anything that goes beyond that is just mind blowing.
So we need to learn that the world of God stretches far across our manmade boundaries.
That's what God is aiming for when He renews our mind.
That is having the mind of Christ; it's being able to understand the language of God's spiritual world.
His call is placed on our lives and He wants to lead us in His ways, not our own cozy little ways.
If you examine the lives of the persons He called in the bible, from the Old Testament all through the New Testament, you will find they all had an unusual calling.
Unusual to man.
Abraham had to set out to an unknown destination, David fought lions and giants on his way to become king of all Israel .
Sarah was promised a child, while it was impossible for her to give birth to one.
Mary was to become pregnant by the Holy Spirit and give birth to the Savior of the world. Jeremiah would speak but he would often be thrown into the pit by the people, as a reward for bringing God's word to the Israelites, because they could not understand God's language.
Paul used to kill Christians, but then he had to lead people to Christianity.
We have to heal the sick drive out demons and preach the gospel of salvation to all.
To the world we are considered to be foolish, because we believe in Christ. But to God the wisdom of man is foolishness and He honors those who bring the message of salvation.
But all of this is very unusual, however not to our heavenly Father who wants to grant us the mind of Christ.
Now some people will probably cry when a Russian walked out their door angry because they didn't understand his Russian declaration of love.
And he will just be hurt instead.
Tears are bound to fall, because of a misunderstanding.
It's the same way with understanding Gods language, we often cry because we do not understand why He allows some things to happen. Still His language is called love.
We are led to fight heavy battles or to believe in things that seem absolutely impossible and we get frustrated and hurt, because we do not understand. Why God, why this way? Isn't there an easier road to walk upon?
Why do I have to cry?
Crying is not God's aim for our lives.
No He came to give us life and everything else in abundance.
He wants to bless us.
Obtaining the mind of Christ is the greatest blessing ever.
You will be able to understand Gods language, His ways, and you will not be frustrated and hurt as before because you understand that you are perfectly save in His plan for your life. Even if the plan is mind blowing.
Sometimes it's even better to turn of your mind and think things over with your heart, it's spiritually referred to as your spirit being.
This is the way God speaks to us, through our spirit.
The mind has to follow your spirit.
Your spirit has to follow God's Spirit.
But because we are still changing from day to day we are bound to shed a tear now and then when we can't go on.
I'm often amazed to read back the things that God is leading me to write down.
His Spirit blesses me as I consume what He gives to me.
But I often fail to hold on to what He teaches me and as a result my bottle of tears is constantly being refilled. It makes me weak and sometimes I can't even find the strength to cry anymore. Can you relate to this?
If you can, you are speaking the wrong language together with me.
We all have a perfect teacher who wants to teach us to fluently speak God's language, so there will be no refills with tears.
Turn of your own thoughts, they will tell you, this is not the right way.
They will tell you not to go through the desert.
Follow the touch of God's Spirit in your hart, no matter how impossible, how unreal, or how unusual it may seem, no matter where He leads you to, or what He leads you to do.
Abraham was told to sacrifice his own son.
He didn't question the absurdity of this request with his mind but he followed the voice of God's Spirit, because He understood the language.
In doing so he didn't have to cry, but rejoiced because God granted him righteousness because of his act of faith. And this righteousness is being passed on to all who have faith and follow the sweet and tender voice of God's Spirit.
If you want to tell me that you love me in Christ, please use one of the following languages;
Spanish, French, Dutch, German or my most favorite, English.
This way we don't have to cry because of misunderstandings.
What's your favorite language? I hope you understand English because I want to tell you that I love you with the everlasting wonderful love of Christ.
God will kiss away your tears together you'll fluently speak His language of love
Je t'aime in Christ!
Do you love me too in Christ?
