Abi you say you love and care for us
Why then do you place rocket launchers at our schools
and outside of our mosques

We love to pray and play
Yet stumble over ammunition along the way

I wish I could be happy and carefree
Like all little children are supposed to be
Yet kept in this prison made by your rules
We have become your main war tools

We cannot sail the oceans wide
become merchants in free trade
Your weapon smuggling has brought us a lifelong blockade
We hunger and thirst for food and freedom
But you squander all financial aid buying rockets for your kingdom

We live to die to never see a democratic state
To never be a child
to be victims of terror seems to be our fate
Abi on my knees I pray and come to your aid
May you be set free from your prison of hate.

May the child in you arise once more
to feel the hurt inside our souls
We pray for the rest of the world and come to their aid
May their eyes be opened to really see our fate
We were born to be children like all children are
Through eyes filled with pain and tears disillusioned
we dream this unreachable dream from afar

Harmony and peace is what we want
children living together side by side
Playing together from dawn to dusk
never fearing never having to run or hide

Abi I pray that instead of weapons it will be love that you will sow
instead of planting launchers in our gardens it will be vegetables and flowers that you will grow

May the peace and freedom from above
embrace us with love’s tranquility

Renewing our lives to experience each moment each day
soaking in the warmth of the Life of the Divine Divinity
Blessings and love in Christ,
Monique
